From the Principal
Kia ora koutou,
As we head into the school holidays, I want to take a moment to thank everyone—students, staff, and whānau—for a wonderful term. It’s been filled with learning, growth, and some fantastic community moments.
A highlight this term was our beautiful Matariki community evening. We were so fortunate with the weather, and it was truly heartwarming to see so many of you join us to celebrate this special time of reflection, renewal, and connection. A huge thank you to our staff and students who worked so hard to prepare such a meaningful and joyful event.
Another vibrant event was our recent school disco—what a colourful evening that was! It was fantastic to see everyone’s creative interpretations of the theme. Thank you to the amazing team who put it all together and made it such a memorable night for our tamariki.
Next term kicks off with Student-Led Conferences in Week 1. Our students are looking forward to sharing their learning journey with you—it’s such a proud moment for them and a valuable opportunity for families to connect with the learning happening in our classrooms.
Staffing changes next term include Kirsty Hodd joining our RTLB team, Laura Cooke taking over in room 17 and later in the term Abi Cawood will be joining us as Kate Winiana commences her maternity leave.
Next term we welcome back Anna Hedstrom as she returns from her overseas travels.
We wish Bianca Walker all the best as she is commencing leave for the remainder of the school year, Bianca will be rejoining our community in 2026. Emma Sheppard will be teaching in Room 6 from week two.
Finally, we send our very best wishes to Emily Denly (Room 17), who is leaving us at the end of this term to spend more time with her whānau. Emily has contributed so much to our kura over the years, and we are incredibly grateful for her dedication and care. Ngā mihi nui, Emily—thank you for everything.
Wishing everyone a safe, restful, and happy holiday break. We look forward to seeing you all back, refreshed and ready for another exciting term.
Ngā manaakitanga,
